Last week, we held our very first Paper.li Webinar where we were able to show how you could get started with your paper and answer many questions live. If you missed it or want to review it, we will be uploading it to our YouTube channel very soon.
We learned many things during this first webinar and we saw that many of you wondered about the uses of Paper.li. Coincidentally, we were featured on the June’s edition of Bigger Law Firm magazine on a review of how lawyers can use Paper.li. So, I thought it would be helpful to write a blogpost and go over some ways a solopreneur or small business owner can use our tool to stand out online while saving time and establishing themselves as a trusted source in their sector.
First things first, for those of you who are still unsure of what Paper.li does, let’s define it. Essentially, Paper.li is an aggregator, it helps you find content related to your sector to share with your followers and it also allows you to easily distribute that content online. It is not a blog but a content hub, so to speak, with the benefit that it also allows you to share the content you gather in various ways.
Now, what are some of the options you have to do that? Today, I am going to go over 3 of them! Let’s get started.
Social Media Assistant
Finding content to share in social media can take a lot of time. But with Paper.li, you can immediately get a hub full or articles, videos and photos that interest your followers and to top it off, you can share them easily. There are some good practices to keep in mind when using Paper.li as a Social Media Assistant to keep your social profiles full of fresh content:
- It shouldn’t all be automatic, learn how to customize your promo-posts here.
- Review the content in your paper before promoting it on Social Media by turning Notifications Control ON.
Another great way to use your paper is by adding it as a new section on your website. By adding a Newsroom to your website, you can easily serve your visitors with fresh content that will attract them to return. Here’s a great example by our long time publisher, Alice Krueser with her Art & Design Matters paper. As you can see, she has added a section on her business’ website to share news with her readers.

E-mail is still a very powerful medium when it comes to promoting a business. By turning your Paper.li into a beautiful newsletter full of fresh content, you can stay on the top of mind of your customers.
It’s a great alternative for those who have limited time but still want to nurture their contacts.
