Have you ever run across this button and wondered why it is there? You're not alone. In fact about 30% of questions from users revolve around this button and how it got there.
Here are the two top reasons that your paper is most likely not updating, and what can be done about it.
No Page Views:
When a paper is created we will ensure that it updates automatically for the next 48 hours for daily papers, and for the next two editions for weekly papers.
If there have not been any page views after 48 consecutive hours, or two consecutive weeks, papers will switch from automatic update to manual update.

When this change occurs you will see an "Update Paper Now" button at the top of the page. Click on it, and get your presses rolling.
Depending on the amount of content we need to retrieve and analyze, the refresh can take anywhere from a few seconds up to a couple of minutes.

Twitter List Changes:
Are you the owner of a list based paper? List's can change. Take a minute to verify that your Twitter list matches the list under your Daily's settings.
Now your thinking... "but I haven't made any changes!"
Take a quick look anyway. We have publishers report that indeed "something" has changed on their twitter list and a trailing digit or letter of a list name is no longer there.

A change on a list, means a change under your paper's settings. Your changes will be reflected the next scheduled update for your paper.

Menadel - It is not currently possible to modify the headline titles, however we will be rolling out new functionality in the near future that will allow publishers more control and better management over their content.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI can't even set my twitter lists as a resource. Is there any place where I can find a "how to" help? Thank you in advance!
Thomas
We can't rule out 3rd party issues and last weekend there were reported issues with lists and home timelines on Twitter, so that could have affected your Paper.li.
